Legal Question in Family Law in California

Two Wifes

Husband and I have been married since Dec 01 1988, Because of alot of stressful situations we separated several times, 1995 being the last time, We just recently got back together,and all is going great, and I found out that he married another woman Aug 16 1996, being under alot of stress... Now what can be done about getting this annuled? She wants me to send her money till she can get on SSI.... Do I have to do that?? Thxs so much

if you and your spouse were married when he married the other woman, then their marriage is void. now, if other woman didn't know that husband was married to you at the time they got married, she might be viewed as a putative spouse. if so, she might be entitled to the same rights as a married woman even though (technically) their marriage was void. my guess is that husband may want to work something out with other woman. you on the other hand, don't have to give her anything.
