Legal Question in Family Law in California

Who will represent me in court for I am an impoverished, disabled single woman in my 50s. I have been found guilty of domestic abuse towards my ex-husband and his testimony is completely false. On top of that, the judge has NOT been fair. He has dismissed most of my testimony and brassly concurrs with the ex. Ive gone to VLSC, their response was Sorry, your case is to complicated. You can be represented by the Public Defender or whatever substitute the county provides for people accused of crime who cannot pay for legal services.
