Family Medcial Leave

I'm having a serious surgery. can i take my vacation and or my sick time i have and then after that take family leave for the 12 weeks or does the 12 weeks start immediately?

You cannot add your vacation and sick time to the 12 weeks of family leave, unless company policy allows for it. 12 weeks is the maximum time the law will protect your job. Your accrued vacation and sick time will allow you to get paid while you are on leave, until it runs out.
