Legal Question in Medical Leave in California
Pregnancy Leave
My employer is wondering how much time to give a
female employee who is asking for 2 months
pregnancy leave. Our company is small...4 in San
Francisco and 4 in Los Angeles (all full time). Are there
any laws he must follow as a very small company
regarding this type of leave?

Re: Pregnancy Leave
In California, all employers of 5 or more employees are required to allow pregnant employees up to 4 months off for any pregnancy related disability. Therefore, if the employee produces medical documentation supporting the need for 2 months off, this employer must allow it.
