Legal Question in Federal Tort Claims in California

contracts of carriage

Hello, Could you give me any advise on laws regarding a cruise line changing the itinerary? I purchased a cruise to the baltic capitals which was departed April 28 2003. The ports were to include St. Petersburg, Russia; Helsinke: and Talinn, Estonia, but upon boarding in Dover, England I was handed a letter which stated: ''due to ice in the Guld of Finland, the ship would sail to Amsterdam, Norway and Germany. Is the fact that the weather conditions did not develop suddenly and was known well in advance by NCL, but not told to the passengers until boarding give me any grounds for legal action? This eliminated any options passengers would have hade to switch sailings or cancle.

Re: contracts of carriage

from the facts given so far, it definitely appears that you may have a cause of action for breach of contract (itinerary), especially if the conditions u mentioned for well foreseen prior to your boarding the ship. if you would like further assistance, feel free to email directly with more facts regarding your case, as well as if the other passengers felt the same way and what monies you paid for the cruise.
