Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California
In 2011 while in a domestic relationship with their son, my daughters fathers parents paid to retrieve our handgun from pawn for $300 that he and I decided together to pawn. In order for them to release the handgun to me, they expect me to pay the entire $300 balance due. Although the handgun is registered to me, and the pawn was made in my name, am I 100% responsible for the entire price to recuperate the item if I was not the only person involved in the decision to pawn the item nor was I the only person to spend the pawn payout.

While you may a right to collect something from the other person who decided with you to pawn the gun, the pawn shop is well within its rights to request the entire balance due from you.
