Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California
i was attacked in front of my house by a staker/old friend and while trying to get away from the sitiution in my car the assailant then attacked my car and in the process she got hurt....now i got a letter in the mail from a law office saying i have to give them my insurance info....this went to criminal court and all charges against me were dropped...what can i do?

the best thing would be to hire an inexpensive attorney, spend about 1/2 hour with him/her going over the situation, and then having the attorney contact the law office and tell them what the really situation is--their client is a stalker, has mental problems, no criminal charges were pressed against you, insurance does nt cover intentional acts so there is no insurance company to go after with its "deep pockets", and if she sues you your attorney will do what any plaintiff attorney would do, file suit against her for assault, invasion of privacy, battery, etc., and then when you win you may file suit against him for filing such a garbage lawsuit, at which time your attorney will go after the records of all his cases.
If you have homeowner's insurance, tell the insurer about the demand. It will provide a lawyer for you. Otherwise do as Mr. Shers suggests.
