Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California
I have seen many Attorney ads in the phone books, newspapers and in the internet, that state that they (the Law firm(s) /attorney(s)) have prevailed in so and so cases and have obtained $50 Million in Verdicts, others claiming that they obtained over $100 Million in combined verdicts, etc.,,,,,and my question is, if they have obtained these Tens of Millions of dollars in verdicts, then why are they still in the same sized firms, or why not retire , since they're "multi-millionaires" after they collect their 40%? ,,,Aside from paying their 34% to the IRS, Do they have to pay a big percentage to the State Bar or some other commission, that keeps them working?,,,,I know some small firms/partnerships grow to become big law corporation, but others don't.

I wouldn't believe everything I read in an advertisement if I were you, especially when people were out after my money.
