Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Attorney, in pro per, claiming representation

Attorney, an individual defendant, identifies himself on both the header on briefs and signing as being represented by himself and including heading of lawfirm that is not any party to the lawsuit.

Apparently he is aware that pro pers are often given short shrift in court.

Is there a rule against this?
