Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

auto registration

I bought a truck in my name. I do not drive

it, my son does.He is paying payments to me.

Since I am listed as owner, am I liable for

any accident that he might have? How can I

put him on the registration and still have

the power to take it back if he doesn't keep

up the payments. any suggestions? thanks p.s. I didn't know what catagory this would be under.

Re: auto registration

you need to make your son the registered owner and list yourself as the lien holder just as the bank does when you buy a new car. If you are listed as owner then you are responsible but only for 15/30. as long as the son carries minimum liability, you are safe.
