Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Auto title company repossessed my auto when I feel behind on payment in which I admit I was late and they had a right to repo my auto. I paid all the cost to get it out and when I picked it up it had been broken into with a crow bar causing allot of damages and all my personal stuff and allot of OEM parts were stolen. Who do I hold responsible for this. I understand they had a right to repo my auto but don't they have a responsibility to protect my auto while in there care.

File a police report and sue the repo people as well as the bank that authorized the repo.
