Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Automobile Purchase

I recently purchased a truck from a dealership, which they advertised as a 1991. The truck was not in the best condition, so I bid them down from their asking price of an outrageous $7500, to what I considered reasonable $4500 for that year and model, according to the Blue Book, and condition of the vehicle. I recently recieved in the mail a letter stating that the vehicle that I purchased from them was in fact a 1989 Nissian truck, and not a 1991. But that I still got it "under Blue Book" . They stated that they were sorry about the mix up, and to have a nice day. I want to know if there is any kind of retribution I can take on the dealership for their negligence, and if so what kind, as I feel I could have bought the truck for lower if I had know what year it was.

Thank you,

Concerned customer

Re: Automobile Purchase

you could try small claims court and sue for fraud or negligent misrepresentation and maybe recover the difference.
