Bad Checks

I had a roomate that wrote me a bad check for rent and then when I went to cash it took off. I can not find her. I also have a contract signed by her that owes me 168.00 dollars for a car payment I helped her out with. I had to cut the lease because I could not afford the aparment and I am now out over 4,000.00 dollars. What should I do?

Go to small claims court. You might also report the roommate to the district attorney. Some have programs to recover on bad checks.
