Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California
I bought a used vehicle from a private party seller, didn't even get through a tank of gas (less than a week later) and the motor blew up, do I have any recourse?
She claims she didn't know that the car was in bad shape. She has now told me that her dad said it might have been a head gasket.

Try to find out from a mechanic what caused the motor to blow up and if she would have noticed any problems before selling eh car to you. You bought the car "as is' I assume but that does not mean she does not have to reveal to you defects she reasonable should know of but you would not in buying the car.
