Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California
BREACH OF CONTRACT/STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS
I had an independent contractor contract that was breached. What is the statute of limitations on filing a lawsuit regarding the breach?

Re: BREACH OF CONTRACT/STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS
The answer is not as simple as it might seem. There is a four-year period for written contracts and a two-year period for oral contracts. However, some actions claim "implied promises to pay" or other variants which can be harder to pin down.

The statute of limitations is three years from the date of the breach. If you have any further questions or need help filing a lawsuit and you would like a free consultation, please feel free to contact my office toll free at 877-546-9918.
