Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California
I had a car I purchased from a friend reposessed. Our contract stated the purchase price-the amount and due date of the payments-very simple. My name was tooken off the registration over a year ago and I got numerous parking tickets which were sent to my friends aunt-after they tried to come and take the car over the tickets(I was not behind on any payments) I stopped payments and demanded my name be put back on the registration- they hired a repo company and to the car-I've paid 6,700 and owe 2,300-I have evn offered to just pay the balance in full to get my car back and they won't return any calls or emails or texts-its been almost 2 months still no response-should I hire an attorney or is this a small claims matter? I live in the state of california-also how did they get my name off the registration via DMV without my signiture to begin with? Please help:(!!!

You could sue your friend but the car is most likely sold. They general sell cars really cheap and quickly to dealers.
