Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Car sale

I sold my car to my sister for 5k she has not paid me the full amount only paid me 1.5 she has had it for one month. She decided today that she does not want it and wants to sell it on the streeet for 8k.I know that she cant sell to nobody it is still my property am i right or not becouse in that case i could of sold for 10k myself. What should i do?

Hello!

If you transferred the "pink slip" to your sister, then she owns the car and merely owes you a debt. I assume that you did not make yourself the secured lender (like a bank) on the DMV registration.

If you have not transferred the pink and not enabled a registgration in your sister's name, you can repossess the car---it remains yours!
