Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

I cashed a cashiers check. The next day I received another cashiers check to cash. The bank then told me that check was fraudulent and so I owed them the money I had cashed the previous day. I did not have that money anymore. So they took the money out of my account. Since they actually cashed the check they are liable for their own money because they did not verify the check properly. Can I get my money back?
