Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California
Chase bank overdrew account by $10,000 and gave to child support services when I only had $200 in my account. Now the bank is stating I have to pay them $10,000. Do I have to pay them?

That doesn't make any sense at all. The sheriff would not overdraw and trigger overdraft on a bank levy.
You need to meet with a lawyer to discuss this. It is not possible to evaluate your obligations based simply on what you state.
I agree with Mr. Roach that it seems very unlikely that a bank levy in California would cause an overdraft of this size. Still, stranger things have happened. Without reviewing all of the records of your account, no lawyer can offer an opinion on your obligation to repay the amount overdrawn, or whether you have an argument that the bank should itself cover the loss.
