Check cashed regarding loan - memo line

Should I continue to make loan payments

even if the recipient (an ex in-law) is

writing something I dont agree with over

my information on the memo line of the

check? Any help is appreciated!

The recipient can neither create nor modify a contract with you by writing on your check after she receives it. Your existing loan terms probably can only be changed by a mututal agreement, but the original loan contract may specify other ways by which some of its terms can be changed. You should sit down with a lawyer to go over the loan agreement and other related documents so you can get a better sense of your rights.
