chp entered wrong address

Reported car stolen to CHP form 180 filled out.CHP entered address where car was stolen from as the registered/contact address not my home address where I could be contacted at.Car was recovered all notification was sent to crime address not my address. I was not notified, car was lein sold. Never found out until 2 1/2 years later re- recovery or lein sale.tow co.still has car.lein doc ????

they are only required to notify address on registration.
