Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California
civil law
my daughter's son was living with his father. His father was beating him. My daughter finally got him for a visit while he still had bruises. She took pictures, called cps. They removed the boy from the father. After my daughter obtained custody, the man took her van. He threw her personal belongings into a dumpster leaving the van there. The police towed the car to a storage yard. She has a tow fee, storage fee, police release fee she can not afford to pay. The man returned to school with fliers he is handing out to everyone on campus telling details of their sex life, her conspiracy to take his son from him, and many other degrading details. My daughter reported him to the campus police and security. She has called the police. What legal action can she take. The judge did tell the man the van is hers and to return it prior to him abandoning it in front of the dumpster it was found at.

Your daughter should either retain an attorney, obtain legal assistance from a domestic abuse center or contact the local court for a family law clinic. She should file for a domestic violence restraining order. stating the conduct and request an order that he stop harassing her.
