Civil Lawsuit in Los Angeles

My Father and I bought a home together in San Pedro CA, 90731 in Los Angeles County. We had a verbal agreement that his Ex-wife was to never be at the house before we purchased the home. He brought her to the house which caused an argument between the 2 of us he has now moved out and stopped paying his half the mortgage. To get into the house I used almost 80,000.00 in savings which will now be lossed because the house is not worth the price we bought at. I want to know if I can file a civil lawsuit against him to recoup half the money i put into the house that is loss siince he has broken the verbal contract we had?
