Re: collection of judgement

No!!! Her car may be exempt, depending on the value of the vehichle, how much she owes to the legal owner. Until recently the exempt value of the vehicle was $1,200. The exempt value has been raised. Check with a bankruptcy attorney as to the amount of the exempt.

The cost of attaching an automobile can be substantial. The civil section of the sheriff's department can tell you the approximate cost of attaching the vehicle. Then consider the value of the vehicle above the exemption and anylien on the car, to determine if it is worth it.
