Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Cannot Contact Collectors I Assigned My Judgment Over To

I was awarded a judgment in May of 2003. I signed an agreement with Dzarnoski, Davis & Associates, LTD. out of Vegas, to assign the judgment over to them for collection purposes. I signed the judgment over in July 2003.

I haven't heard anything and thought I'd follow up with a call. The phone is disconnected. I did a search on the web and found their website but the number on the site is also disconnected. I also emailed them at two email addresses and have had no response.

What should I do? The asignment of the judgment was for one year, ending in July 2004. Then I could have it assigned back if I choose to. I don't know how I can do that if I can't get in contact with them.

In addition to Mr. Rothman's suggestion, you can contact the Nevada State Bar (if there is one) to get the latest info on the lawyer or law firms involved.

After "Googling" this company, I'm not sure that they're reputable. Check out this link: http://www.reviewjournal.com/lvrj_home/1998/Mar-21-Sat-1998/news/7170955.html, and this one: http://www.gy.com/biz/541110/702.htm. Their web page is merely an outline and was never completed. And see this web page: http://www.bankrate.com/brm/news/biz/Capital_borrowing/20000127.asp?prodtype=biz which states: "Intermallamerica.com, an Internet mall based in Houston that's trying to raise $4 million through a DPO, probably never would have taken on its own offering if not for the expertise of Vice President Mark Dzarnoski. He -had been- a lawyer and a securities regulator. [My emphasis] Even with Dzarnoski's expertise on the process, it's been tough going for Intermallamerica.com's offering. 'We've been a victim of our own success,' Dzarnoski says." It's not encouraging when the primary attorney no long seems to be an attorney. Good luck and take Mr. Rothman's advice!
