Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

How do you count court days? I know what days court days are. I need to know that when counting court days do you count only court days, or just make sure the calendaring event lands on a court day and count calendar days also?

Court days are days the courts are open. You count only those days and NOT weekend days or holidays.

You can never schedule something on a day that the court is not open, so you must always have an event scheduled on a court day. You could schedule your own trial in a barn somewhere, but you are going to be the only one who shows up.

You then have to count all of the days that the court is open. For example, if you must file papers 16 court days before a hearing, you must have sixteen days that the court is open, so you do not count holidays, or weekends, or furlough days.
