Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Can I counter sue for false allegations against my brother-in-law who I'm helping? He has been lied to as was my wife and I by my sister-in-law. We tried to get my sister-in-law through an intervention at her Taoist temple. They refused and now suing us. When she finally came out we asked for my brother-in-law's paperwork (passport, green card) and called the cops. Even the officer was lied to that she already returned it. Do I have a counter suit?

You cannot sue anyone for something that was done to someone else. You cannot sue on your own behalf because it was not done to you. You cannot sue for them because you are not a lawyer and to file court papers for someone else when you are not a lawyer is a crime. In fact "helping" them with their legal matters is probably crossing the line into practicing law without a license already.
