how many days do i have to answer a demurrer with a hearing date.

An opposition to a demurrer is governed by the same time frame as opposing a motion. "All papers opposing a motion so noticed shall be filed with the court and a copy served on each party at least nine court days ... before the hearing." (Code of Civ. Proc., sect. 1005 subd. (b).)

Mr. Roach is correct. Be careful counting your court days. Courts have holidays and in this economy furlough days that make their court days different from business days.
