Old Debts

Hi, I have credit card debts dating back 8 years. I am still receiving letters from these creditors and I am engaged. When my fiance & I marry, can his bank accounts be seized if I am on the accounts?

The statute of limitations is four years, which can be extended if they can scare you into making a payment or a promise of payment. It is important not to speak to collection agencies on the phone. If you were to be sued, you would have to raise the statute of limitations as a defense.
