Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California
Defamation of character?
We are currently suing someone for two dog bites that took place at their home. They do not have dog-bite coverage so they are calling relatives across the country accusing my sister and me of setting up the dog bites. She is saying that we used my 9 year old nephew who is diabetic in this. It is very disturbing and embarrassing that she would really think that and tell everyone else this. I would like to know if anyone thinks that I should go after her for defamation of character? Thank you in advance for any responses.

Re: Defamation of character?
You can supplement the complaint to allege defamation. I'd be more concerned with the condition of the persons bitten than with hurt feelings.
