Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California
Doctor told me to take rest and a break including court proceedings
Hello my doctor ordered me to take a break and rest including from court litigation.
I do not have an attorney and have a hearing scheduled for Thursday.
Should I call the clerk now and tell them what the doctor told me and ask to have it postponed. Is there a specific procedure to do this?
Thank you so much in advance

Depending on the type of case you can hire an attorney to appear for you.

You will need to take a doctors excuse, probably made under penalty of perjury to satisfy the Judge, and you will need to ask the Judge to supsend Court Proceedings. You may have to bring an ex parte motion.
