DoI have to pay for something someone gave me?

A neighbor gave me a year old printer. I had asked her several times ''How much?'' She always said never mind. 21/2 months later she knocked on my door and said''Did I ever tell you anthing about the printer?'' ''You can give me $50'' I was shocked - the prionter was over a ywear old when she gave it to me. She actually brought it to my house and said here. Am I responsible for paying her?
