Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Driving Incident

I was making a left turn and didn't realize there were 2 left turn lanes. I made my left turn into the right lane of the street and caused someone to scrub his rims against the curb. My car had NO CONTACT with his car, but he is requesting that I pay $900 for the replacement of his rims. Am I legally liable for paying for the replacement?

Re: Driving Incident

If you caused the accident you are responsible, even if you didn't hit the other car. The other driver should not be penalized for being able to avoid a collision.
