Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Equine Lease

Lessee realizes that the mare leased is going to cost more than thought to bred to their stud. Wants lessor to pay for half of additional cost and states if this is unacceptable, lease is terminated and beginning on date ? the 30 day notice begins. Then changes mind and states previous terms will stand.

Would the contract be void? What circumstances would allow the contract to be valid after the verbal termination?

The answer will depend on more facts; our CA attorney can give you a legal opinion on this and represent you for a reasonable fee, but this is not a cut and dry situation; so litigation or at least the threat of it may come into play.
