Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

My exboyfriend owes me money, approximately $8,000. I want to sue him, but I don't know his current address. How do i go about locating the address? I have his ID (from a different state) and his social security number.

You might check http://www.zillow.com for a free search. If that doesn't come up with an acceptable address, it might be worth it to hire a private investigator or use a service to find him. Your can sue in small claims court for up to $7,500.

There are a variety of on-line person search websites that you can try. You can also go to a private investigator who specializes in that type of work. Because the investigator will likely start with searching the publically available databases as well, you might want to try doing that on you own first to save the cost of the investigator. As Robert suggest, once you find him you can sue him in Small Claims Court for up to $7,500. Good luck.
