what can I do if my ex-boyfriend pawned my belongings without my knowledge while we were still together and he does want to give them back?

Go to the pawn shop, tell them that he did not have ownership of the items, see how much it would cost to get the items back and whether you want to pay that much for some of them, tell the ex that you will sue him for conversion and theft unless he returns the items [which is probably what you will have to do].
