Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Ex-Girlfriend Owes Money

I put $3000 of my exgirlfriend's CC debt on my CC to help save interest. She agreed to pay it back but never did, she is now not answering any emails.

Do I have any options?

Hello:

You have a number of options, none of them very satisfying, like an overdone steak!

1. Small claims Court for $3,000. He said she said. 50/50 chance of winning and losing.

2. Hire an attorney and spend over $3,000 chasing her.

3. Ignore her and move on as you have already made enough mistakes with her!!

4. Entreat her to resolve the matter with you at a discount as "you are a good guy" and its holiday time.

None of the above are good endings. Yes, you have legitimate claims, but the financial and possibly the emotional cost of the fix is probably too great. You got a very exceptional education for only $3,000!
