Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Ex-roomate wont return belongings

When my Exroommate and i were moving out of our apartment (06/31/00) she rented a storage unit under her name. She said I could put my belongings in the unit and get them when I found a place to live. Almost one month later she calls and leaves several messages on my voicemail threatening to sell my stuff if I did not call her by the next day. I was not ale to call her then, but was able to a few days later. I left several messages for her to contact me so I could get my things but I have not heard from her. It is now one month later still no word from her and I cant find out where she is at (nobody has seen her latley). I am worried about my belongings, is there a way to get them out of her storage with out her or will I have to sue her to get them back and if so how would I sue her if I dont know where she is at?

Re: Ex-roomate wont return belongings

You'll need to sue her in small Claims Court in order to get your stuff back. In order to do that, you must find her.
