Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Ex-wife will not return property after I moved back in

After being divorced for 13 years my ex-wife invited me to move in with her, when I lost my job and was going through marital problems with my curent wife. This was almost 2 years ago. My wife and I reconciled after only one month and after 3 700 mile trips still refuses to return property to me valued at aprox. $10,000. The items are as follows, ...A very high-end stereo, 2 signed and numbered prints, aprox. 100 CDs, Misc tools and some very important paperwork...My Question is what can i do to get these items back and will I have to file in her county, or can I do it from mine. Also will i have to make another 700 mile trip to possibly come back empty handed again.

You can file an action seeking return of your property and possibly seek the expenses you have incurred for the travel in attempting to get it back. The legal action would need to be filed in the County in which the property is located. If your property is in Los Angeles County you may contact me at [email protected]
