Re: How to Fight a Personal Injury Lawsuit
You may be covered for this by insurance: car insurance if there was a car involved, homeowners or renters insurance (yours or your parents') if there was not. The insurance co. should hire a lawyer to defend you and pay any judgment up to the policy limits.
If there is no insurance, you can try to offer payment over time. If you think the amount they are claiming is too much, even if you admit liability, you should retain a lawyer in the state where the lawsuit is pending and defend the case - or at least discuss it with a lawyer.
