Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Filling out a Request for Admisssions form.

I am a defendant in a civil suit. In filling out a ''Request for Admissions'' form, there is a place for a name and signature at the bottom. Is that for me, as the submitting party, to sign? Or is that for the responding party to sign if he admits to the admissions? Or does he respond with a separate filing in answer to the request for admissions?

Thanks a lot!!

Re: Filling out a Request for Admisssions form.

You sign and date the request for admissions. The reply is on another paper. This is normally done on 28 line pleading paper.

If you're talking about a Judicial Council approved form, then you or propounding party has to sign on the bottom.
