how do i find out if someone has sued before

I am trying to research if someone sues alot. How do i find this information?

The court clerk has what is called a civil index to you been used to look up somebody's name and see if they have been a party to a lawsuit before. The index will give you the name of a lawsuit in the case number and then you can have the clerk pull the individual case files to see what the lawsuit was about. You can do this yourself by spending sometime in the court clerk's office. You can also have a private investigator do it. Sometimes private investigators have access to computer records that have this information.
