Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

A group of landowners in antelope valley are suing for water rights. I chose not to participate. A law office in La sent me a form indicating that I was a cross-defendent and that I had to file the form(model answers) with the court. Do I have to file this as I want no part of the lswsuit?

If you really are a cross-defendant then your desire to stay out of the lawsuit is irrelevant. One of the defendants has sued you, and you must either participate or face a potential default judgment.

You should take this lawsuit seriously and get legal representation -- or at least legal advice. Don't simply fill out unfamiliar forms in the belief that everything will just go away on its own. You may lose property rights and/or money if you aren't careful.
