Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Several items now missing after she was told to leave.

About 2 1\2 years ago, I allowed a female acquaintance to take up temporary residency with me. After taking advantage of my free hospitality for over a year, I demanded she leave and find some other place to live. We have continued to ''see'' each other up to the present with many reservations.

My problem is, upon her leaving my residence, she decided to

''take'' some things that belonged to me. Among those initial items that she left with was a key ring with a substantial amount of keys.

She has managed to now have in her possession in excess of 50 different personal items of mine including: a computer,

(2) leather jackets, a personal cd player, a pair of Ray Ban

sunglasses just to name a few.

No, I have not contacted the police as of yet. I have been

holding out hope that she would return everything. It has unfortunately turned for the worse with regards to our being

together much longer. I now believe she does not have any intention of returning my things.

My question is: Do I have any legal avenues I can use in my quest to recover any and/or all of my things currently in her possession?

This is not a legal opinion but an observation: the female has defeated you according to the law of the jungle. Forget her.

of course. you can sue her, but as you, yourself, noted, you should first go to the police. so long as you can show that the personal property belongs to you, they may be of some assistance without you having to go through the expense and hassle of a lawsuit.
