Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

I have a judgement debtors exam tomorrow in court 70 miles away from home. I have been home sick with the flu the past 2 days and not getting any better. How can I postpone this exam until I am over the flu symptoms and able to go to court. I don't have a attorney representing me.

You need to contact opposing counsel and the court ASAP, and work out a new date for the appearance. If you do not obtain a continuance, you will need to appear.

If you do not obtain a continuance and you fail to appear as ordered, then a bench warrant will be issued for your arrest.
