how legally responsible am i for my 18yr child if he still lives at home. reg au

how responsible for my child if he is 18 yr old and lives at home. I am on his car registration along with him. I would like to drop him on my insurance and take my name off his car but i can't if i am still responsible.

Once the child turns 18 the parents are no longer responsible for his actions. If he was to get into a car accident no one would be able to come after you for damages. You can drop him from your insurance and registration and not worry about being held liable for any damage that he causes. However, if you are still listed on the registration you could be held liable for any damage that he causes so it is definately in your best interest to remove your name from anything concerning his vehicle.
