Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

I live in California. If I have court judgment against me, I understand my creditors now can take money directly from my personal bank account. How much is the amount that I allowed to keep? I don't have any direct deposits! Why CA does not have Exempt Income Protection Act as clear as In NY?

Thank You!

The creditor can take everything out of your bank account, unless it's retirement money, Social Security, or in some other circumstances. You might look at Code of Civil Procedure section 704.010, and the sections that follow, to see what exemptions you might be able to claim in court. Also, a court will entertain hardship arguments to reduce the amount taken. Usually, you will NOT receive notice before it happens.
