Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California
Hello I loaned a friend $2000.00 last year and I made a simple promissary not with a witness signing as well as my friend and myself. She was supposed to start paying me back July or 2008 and has not given me a penny. I did not think to get the promissary not notarized. Will I be able to sue her in small claims court?

Yes. Small claims court is the appropriate place to file suit for this amount.

Yes, although it's good to have the promissory note notarized, it is not required, and the promissory note is valid and enforceable as long as the person borrowing money signed it.
Thanks.
