Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California
A local bartender has been sexually harassing me for years. About 8 years ago this bartender and I had date, which led to nothing because i was not interested in her. After that, she had been making sexual advances towards me and acting rudely to me when I visit the bar that she works at. this has been going on for YEARS. On march 17th 2011, she groped me in a very perverse manor. That same night i spoke to the owner/manager of the bar, and complained that i had been sexually assaulted by on of the employees. The owner/manager mocked me for my complaint and took another drink of booze. One week later the bartenders boyfriend attacked me with a weapon totally unprovoked. He had blindsided me with a flashlight in the back of the head while i was facing away from him. I left the bar and went outside to call ab ambulance as i was bleeding profusely from the head injury i had sustained, when another member of the bar staff came outside and threatened me not to call an ambulance or the police. when i refused, this staff member swung the same flashlight at me and missed, and dropped the flashlight because it was slippery with my blood. i picked up the flashlight so that i would not be injured with it anymore, and i ran to a nearby gas station and called for my wife to come pick me up and take me to the hospital. At the hospital, i asked the nurse to contact law enforcement on my behalf i received 3 staples in my head as well as a bill for 4k. the local police came and took a police report, and i have not heard from them since. i contacted the bar owner and the person that assaulted me seeking damages and have been ignored. since then, the bar owner, bartender, and the person that assaulted me, have been generating malicious and false rumors about me.i am unemployed and cannot afford legal representation.
my question: how do i go about gaining compensation for this incident? Is it possible that i can find legal representation that will only bill for services after a judgement?

You want an attorney to work for free on these facts? ROFL. Find another watering hole. Or drink at home. Or switch to medical marijuana if you have a qualifying ailment, such as your new headache.
You can easily find a personal injury attorney to handle a case like that on a contingency basis. Most personal injury attorneys structure their practice that way.
I do have to ask, however, isn't there another bar in the town where you live? I mean, what keeps you coming back for punishment?
