How long is the limitation on filing civil litigation lawsuits?

That depends on the nature of your claim and, in some instances, the nature of the defendant. There may also be reasons why you would have more or less time than other people with similar claims against similar defendants. With no information about your potential lawsuit, that's the best I can do.

I agree with Mr. Hoffman. It depends on the underlying claim. A lawsuit for breach of a written contract is governed by a 4 year limitations period, while a breach of an oral contract is 2 years. Personal injury actions are governed by a 2 year statute of limitations.
